The Odiham and Farnham Turnpike Trust was created by act of Parliament in 1789, a distance of 7 miles and 4 furlongs with 3 tollgates at Odiham Gate (said to be the present day 2 High Street, Odiham), Crondall Gate and Farnham Gate.
The current A287 follows the route of the turnpike, leaving Farnham by Castle Street and Folly Hill although there has been some straightening over the years, particularly near Crondall and also the short section of dual carriageway to the west of Mill Lane.
Of the seven milestones on this road, only one is believed to exist today
The Half Mile milestone (½ mile to Farnham and 7 miles to Odiham)
This was on Folly Hill, just to the north of the sharp left hand bend after the entrance to the Farnham Park car park. Believed lost.

This still exists today and is easy to see from the road at Warren Corner on the south side of the A287, just to the east of the Dora’s Green lane junction.

The Three and a Half Mile milestone (3½ miles to Farnham and 4 miles to Odiham)
This was on the current A287 just to the west of the junction with Dares Lane. This milestone is shown on the 1997 Ordnance Explorer map and was also included in the list that Ted Parrett produced but in our survey, we failed to find it although it is a difficult area to investigate.
